Yume Koi Japan
Mike Snaden first started Yume Koi in Bristol England
in 2000 and is now known globally within the Nishikigoi Industry. Mike
dedicated years visiting Japan to create relationships with the southern
breeders, many of whom were relatively unknown here in the UK and Europe. During this time in Japan, he learned and
gained vast amounts of knowledge about choosing the highest quality koi at a
young age with potential to grow jumbo. The koi Mike introduced to the UK we
feel changed people’s perspective on true high-quality koi and jumbo koi. He
has supplied countless major award-winning koi since 2000
In the UK, Mike
pioneered Bakki Showers, Drums and Reverse Osmosis in koi ponds, which created
a new direction of pond design and filtration.
From England Mike
moved to Japan with his business to create Yume Koi Japan, where he follows the
same ethos and enthusiasm, just on a much larger scale. The Yume Koi Japan facility
is very impressive, with Mike’s personally designed ponds, which are unique to
Japan. Created to raise koi to jumbo sizes also conditioning them for koi shows
in Japan. It’s certainly inspiring to see! Due to being based in Japan, Mike also
ships koi worldwide.
We first met Mike
around 2005, since regularly visiting Japan with him we have learned a
considerable amount of knowledge from him…which we are still learning! To us,
he’s got to be the most honourable man in the industry.
